Following is my first impressions review, then the imdb movie authority link. Then the link to watch it on Tubi which is ad supported free movies (which has reasonably small amount of commercials, is a stable platform that came highly recommended and I’ve used for a while. FYI: the Tubi link is on the IMDb site as well).
I just watched it all the way through, only pausing to make some delicious tacos (and to look up a few of the quotes in the movie). It’s over 2.5 hours. Which was better to not know the length before watching as it seemed like it was going to be political drivel at first, with some allegorical “hey look at me, I’m an artist” shit… But it wasn’t bad at all and threw in a handful of interesting quirks.
The political drivel turned out to make more sense than I thought it would. Though I was absolutely looking for any weak link in the logic chains. And of course found a few at least. Though not particularly glaring. After all it is fantasy, which is being told in our imagined future though realistically rooted in how we run society now… Despite the rather heavy-handed political stuff… but that’s what it’s based on so how can I put it down for that. I mean: I’m recommending it and I did put in the time which was two movies worth.
In conclusion: here’s to not continuing our mass extinction including killing ourselves off of the planet with how stupidly we are f****** things up right now. Or one of several interesting quotes I looked up through the movie:
“We are all one – and if we don’t know it, we will learn it the hard way.” -Bayard Rustin
It has a high audience score on rotten tomatoes. And here is the imdb link with 7.2/10 rating
